Last updated

What Countle Is#

Countle uses the target-number format familiar from Countdown. Combine supplied numbers through arithmetic until you reach the shown target.

You do not need to use every number. Each used number is consumed, while the result becomes available for another calculation.

Play it at countle.org. Countle is made by a separate publisher. This is an independent guide.

How to Play Countle#

Look for a nearby multiple of a large number, then see whether the remaining tiles can close the gap. Subtraction and division can be useful at any stage.

Keep intermediate results within the game's positive-whole-number rules. Check a proposed step before committing it, especially when dividing.

Countle vs Nerdle#

What the two share

  • Uses arithmetic to solve a compact puzzle
  • Factors and multiples help you plan a move
  • Each calculation must satisfy the game’s rules

What changes

  • The target and starting numbers are visible
  • You build a calculation chain instead of guessing a hidden equation
  • Intermediate results become numbers you can use in later steps

Choose Countle for target building and Mathler for guessing a hidden calculation. They use familiar arithmetic in different ways, so both can fit into a daily puzzle routine.
