What Squareword Is#

Squareword hides five across words and five down words in the same grid. Each submitted word supplies clues across the square.

Green placements help identify both directions. Use the yellow side clues to track letters that still need a position.

How to Play#

Test several common letters, then inspect both rows and columns. A nearly complete down word may reveal a letter needed to finish an across word.

Waffle also uses crossing words, but asks you to swap visible letters. Squareword keeps the word-guessing format and counts the guesses you use.

Our rating:

Ten: five across and five down in the same 5×5 grid. Every letter in the square belongs to exactly one across word and one down word.

No hard limit. The game counts your guesses as a score, and the shareable result grades it in brackets: under 6, under 11, under 16, or 16 and over.

Wordle without the once-a-day limit: pick any word length from four to eleven letters and play as many rounds as you like.

No colored tiles: each guess only narrows where the target sits alphabetically between your words.

Six words baked into a waffle-shaped grid arrive pre-scrambled; you have 15 swaps to set them all straight, and five stars means a perfect solve.
