Nerdle Stats: This Month's Puzzles, By the Numbers

How many NerdleBuddy daily puzzles have run this month and last, how hard they've been, and the all-time average from our committed solver strategy — every number computed from our own puzzle archive and solver dataset, never from Nerdle's own answer history. Where a verified record exists, a companion Nerdle Classic (Official) section reports counts and difficulty sourced from Nerdle's own published Classic answer pages instead.

Monthly Archive#

Every completed month gets its own permanent stats page the moment it ends: puzzle count, difficulty distribution, and the hardest day named for good.

All-Time Solver Stats#

Across NerdleBuddy's full modelled answer pool — 17,723 written forms — the committed decision tree averages 2.964 guesses, and never needs more than 5 guesses for any modelled form. See the hardest Nerdle answers page for the cases that push it to the limit, and the methodology page for exactly how that average is computed.

How These Numbers Are Made#

Every figure on this page is computed from data NerdleBuddy already publishes: the daily archive's date-to-puzzle assignment and percentile difficulty, and the committed solver artefacts behind the strategy guide. Nothing here comes from Nerdle's own official answer history. The methodology page has the full write-up of how the dataset, difficulty scale, and solver strategy are built.

Nerdle Classic (Official) figures are different: they aggregate only rows already verified against Nerdle's own published Classic answer pages, read from our stored archive. This page never fetches Nerdle's site itself, and a period with no verified rows says so plainly instead of estimating one.

Frequently Asked Questions#

What is the hardest Nerdle?

It depends on the scope. This month's hardest NerdleBuddy daily puzzle so far is linked above, and the hardest cases across our full modelled answer pool are on the hardest Nerdle answers page. Neither is a claim about Nerdle's own official puzzles — both come from NerdleBuddy's own archive and solver dataset.

How many Nerdle puzzles are there?

NerdleBuddy's daily archive has run 24 puzzles so far this month and 31 last month, with one original puzzle assigned to every date back to 2000. Separately, our solver models 17,723 possible answer forms in total.

How often do these numbers update?

These statistics refresh as cached pages are renewed. Current counts follow the UTC date; completed months and years have separate archive pages.
