What this ranking means
We played a generated follow-up strategy from every opener against every written answer form. The average is exact for that strategy, but it does not prove a global optimum. Under real Nerdle rules (a rearranged form of the answer also wins), 52-34=18 ranks first and displays 3.0 guesses, alongside 48-32=16 and 52-38=14 at the same displayed 3.0. The solver keeps the stored precision for ranking while every guesses-left display uses the same single decimal place. They work well because all eight characters are distinct: six common digits, one operator, and the equals sign.
