Start Here: The Short Answer#
Want more of exactly what Wordle does? Play Quordle. Want it meaner? Try Absurdle or Semantle. Prefer maps to letters, Worldle; word groups over word guessing, NYT Connections. And if numbers are your language, that’s Nerdle — full disclosure, the game this whole site is dedicated to.
Every game below shares Wordle’s daily-ritual DNA: one shared puzzle, a few guesses, feedback that turns each miss into information. Categories range from straight word variants to geography, music, films, maths, logic, and trivia. Nearly all are free to start in a browser; where a publisher charges or asks for an account, the card says so.
This list stays maintained: link targets and game statuses were re-checked in July 2026, publisher moves are flagged on each card, and dead games aren’t silently linked. For the exhaustive index of everything the Wordle boom produced — including the graveyard — see our complete list of Wordle spinoffs.

How We Choose What's Here#
Three rules. The game has to be playable in a browser without paying first. It has to share Wordle's core loop — a daily (or unlimited) challenge where feedback narrows the answer. And it has to actually be live: statuses come from the games' own sites, publisher announcements, and current coverage, re-checked July 2026, not from a 2022 listicle nobody has touched since. A short list of adjacent picks bends the first two rules on purpose — logic dailies and publisher games that share the ritual rather than the tiles — and their cards say when a subscription or an account is the price of entry.
When a game changes hands or homes, the card says so; when one dies, it moves to the graveyard on our spinoffs index rather than lingering as a broken link.
Frequently Asked Questions#
What's the best game like Wordle?
It depends on what you liked about Wordle. Quordle is the pick for more of the same loop, Semantle and Absurdle for a harder fight, NYT Connections for group-finding, Worldle for geography, and Nerdle for maths — our specialty, with a full strategy guide and solver on this site.
Are games like Wordle free?
62 entries include free games, subscription games, and retired projects. Check the publisher's site for current access and paid options.
What's the maths version of Wordle?
Nerdle: six guesses to find a hidden eight-character equation. Mathler flips the idea — you're given the target and find the calculation — and Primel hides a five-digit prime. All three are on this list.
Is there a Wordle-like game with unlimited plays?
Yes. Hello Wordl is the classic unlimited Wordle, Numberle offers unlimited equation rounds, and Semantle and Absurdle both let you keep playing past the daily. Cards above carry an 'Unlimited play' tag.
How is this list kept accurate?
Every entry's home and status was re-checked in July 2026 against the game's own site, publisher announcements, and current coverage. Ownership changes are flagged on the card, and games that shut down move to the graveyard on our Wordle spinoffs index instead of staying linked.
