Framed

Six frames from one film, revealed one at a time. Name it from the first and brag forever; need all six and you still learned something about cinematography.

What Framed Is#

Framed shows a single still from a film. Guess wrong — or skip — and the next frame appears, up to six. One film per day, same film for everyone, and the share grid tells your friends exactly how many frames you needed.

It appeared in 2022 from an anonymous creator who described it to press as a game for cinephiles and casual film watchers alike. (Ignore the clone sites that confidently name an author; the real one has stayed pseudonymous.)

How to Play#

First frames are usually mood — an empty set, a landscape, a colour palette — so don't burn guesses early: skipping to frame two or three costs nothing but pride and usually surfaces an actor or a prop. Cinematography literacy pays off here in a way trivia recall doesn't.

Beyond the daily there's One Frame, where a single still reveals progressively more of itself, a Title Shot mode, and archives of past puzzles.

The One Still Standing#

Of the 2022 film-guessing wave, Framed is the one that stayed put: rivals like Moviedle moved into apps or vanished, while Framed still runs daily at the same address it launched on. As of July 2026, it's the default answer to 'Wordle, but for films.'

Frequently Asked Questions#

How many guesses does Framed give you?

Six — one per frame. A skip counts the same as a wrong guess: the next frame is revealed.

Can I play old Framed puzzles?

Yes. The site keeps archives for the classic daily and its One Frame mode.
